Removing That Direction

"Sergeant, there is an enemy in that direction."
"Roger sir. Removing that direction."

The Brief

Removing That Direction is a First-Person missile engineering simulation built in Unreal Engine 5. It combines the assembly of Kerbal Space Program, the resource management of a Tycoon game, and the tactile, button-pushing launch procedures of PVKK.

Build. Calculate. Destroy.

You don't just click a target; you have to earn the impact. Walk the hexagonal floor of the Launchpad and physically configure your delivery system at three distinct Assembly Station.

1. The Motor (The Thrust)

Choose your engine. Will you go cheap with the Tier 1 "Sugar" motor (High burn, low thrust) or upgrade to the "Sterling" system? Configure your Burn Profile for Boost or Sustain, and install Thrust Vectoring if you want to actually hit what you aim at.

2. The Fuselage (The Range)

Manage your Delta-V. Stack fuel segments of "Heavy Steel" or lightweight composites. Balance your Dry Mass against your Propellant Volume. If the math is wrong, the rocket comes down on us, not them.

3. The Warhead (The Message)

Select the payload for the job:

  • High Explosive: For when you need a crater.
  • Airburst: For soft targets hidden in trenches.
  • Cluster/Incendiary: For... thoroughness.

Don't forget the fuze

The Gameplay Loop

Your job isn't done until the smoke clears.

  1. Receive Fire Mission: Analyze coordinates, distance, and conditions.
  2. Engineering: Spend your Budget and Research Points (RP) to design a missile capable of making the trip.
  3. Launch Control: Head to the LCC (Launch Control Center)
  4. Flight Profile: Select your trajectory - High-Angle Mortar, Gravity Turn, or a terrifyingly fast Depressed Trajectory.
  5. Execute: Push the big red button. Track the telemetry.
  6. Profit: Earn funds for successful strikes. Unlock better tech. Repeat until peace is achieved (or total domination).

Features

  • Immersive FPP Interface: No floating menus. Walk to the console, look at the buttons, and push de buttonz.
  • Physics-Based Ballistics: Thrust, ISP, Mass, and Delta-V calculations determine your success.
  • Tactile Controls: A specialized interaction system where every button on the console is a physical object.
  • Visual Progression: Watch your rockets evolve from rusty steel tubes to high-tech precision instruments.
  • The "Oops" Factor: Fail a mission? Watch your budget crumble and your rocket explode on the pad.
